After several weeks of work, we have a second floor & a roof! 

We have a long way to go yet we have come so far....check it out!

Roof Shingles are being delivered this afternoon and the Tyvek is going up!  We have COLOR :)  Next up windows, doors and HVAC!

Summer Feature: The Turman Revival

         "SURPRISE"

The only part of the previous home planned to remain was the 

basement/foundation & deck.  Well, Mother Nature had another idea!  

All of the extra rain this month made it's way into the basement.  

In order to "repair" the damage, we were required to update the space to code.  New stairs & new drywall opened the opportunity to update the 

entire space.  Now...what to do?

Meeting with the client and the contractor to 

discuss the new basement plan.  The client is an artist

in his free-time & is considering plans to accommodate 

a studio in part of the space! (SO JEALOUS!)

“Another Day At The Office!”

This week has had it's challenges & has left us about a week behind our target schedule.  However, the 2nd floor is on its way up & we should see the roof next week.  

In the meantime, I thought we would take the extra time to look at the guys "office" & what it takes to build a new home...

“Ready for the Weekend”

The framers are fantastic!  They have completed the first floor just in time for the weekend. They will be back next week to get started on the second floor and maybe the roof.  We will see how what Mother Nature has planned first. 

    

A client meeting yesterday confirmed several interior selections including this locally manufactured recycled glass countertop for the master bathroom which pulls the room together!

“When It Rains, It Pours”

Did we mention that the City of St. Louis Park is also doing road work in the neighborhood?  It makes for an interesting “off-road” adventure getting to the job site.  Thankfully, however, we CAN get to the job site!

  

Lumber has been delivered!  Prep work for the first floor framing started today.  By Thursday we should see the shell of the new house!

“Our First Delay”

The weather has not been cooperative this week here in the Twin Cities ... nor has the contractor schedule.  

We have come to a halt (with the exception of tarping the site to prevent more water damage to the basement.)

While we wait for them to complete the demo and deliver the lumber, we continue to hammer out the final interior selections.
